Bat-Blog Fans might remember reading about the 1966 BATCOPTER being at the New Jersey State Fair last month ( June 24th to July 10th ). If you went there you could actually ride in this Classic Bat-Vehicle for a small fee ( worth every penny ). Well, our Buddy BatDave took his two nieces and his Girlfriend's youngest nephew to the event. Yes, these lucky kids got to see the Original 1966 Batcopter!! For people unfamiliar with this vehicle, this is the real-life prop used in the 60's BATMAN Movie. It is now owned by a Pilot named Captain Gene Nock. He has totally restored the thing & takes it to State Fairs for people to ride.
Now, check out these fun photos. The 1st one is shows all the kids as they got there & they're standing next to the sign for the attraction. the great thing about this pic, if you look, you can see the Batcopter flying in the air. Wow! What a great shot! the next one shows BatDave taking his ride. I'm not sure if they're taking off or landing but it must have been totally exciting!
OK, I gotta explain the last 2 photos & they're really special to me. The Pilot, Captain Gene Nock, said he had seen the post we did here at the Bat-Blog & to show his appreciate he wanted BatDave to give me this Autographed Photo. The 1st pic shows him signing it & then there's the actual signed photo... AWESOME!! That is really cool. What a nice guy! ( Thanks to BatDave & The Junior BatSquad for sharing their adventure & also a thanks for getting me this photo, what a treat! )
Here's a totally cool personal photo sent in to the Bat-Blog. It shows our friend Gene when he got to meet Frank Gorshin, Live in Person, at the Chiller Theatre Convention back in 1999. He said he was extremely gracious & a very nice guy, very down to earth. Actually, this is the only thing I have ever heard about him, that he was just a really great guy to be around. As a little kid I always loved him as the Riddler on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. It's so cool that he was such a good person too. RIP Mr. Gorshin, you are missed. ( Gene, Thank You very much For Sharing Your Wonderful Photo ).

Check out these wonderful photos sent in to us by our good friend Alan. he recently had a birthday & his friend Mariana, who just so happens to be an extremely great Chef, made him this Custom BATMAN Birthday Cake! It was filled with mango & vanilla. Plus, it featured the 1966 BATMAN TV Show Logo on the top & "Sound Effects" around the sides. It's completely beautiful and also a total work of Art! ( Thanks Alan for sharing these pics and, oh yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! )
OK, here's an audio clip of Frank Gorshin singing The Riddler Theme Song, it's super-wacky, just click HERE!

Oh yeah! It's that time again, time to share some BATMAN WALLPAPERS you can use to decorate your computer's desktop. That is, if you're cool enough, ha! Now, the 1st one is pretty simple, it's just a really nice sharp color photo of the most beautiful car in the entire world, George Barris' 1966 BATMAN TV Show Batmobile! Make this your personal wallpaper & I guarantee you will drool for days. Then, next-up, is this unusual image of Batman and Robin fighting Two-Face. I just thought it was a cool graphic because it's from the Golden Age of Comic Books, nice! Remember, please be sure to share these backgrounds with all your friends. In fact, please tell every Batman Fan you know about the BAT-BLOG.COM, thanks!
If you're gonna be in, or near, New Jersey this weekend then you need to hit the NJ Meadowlands Fairgrounds so you can take a ride in the original 1966 BATMAN Bat-Copter! The event starts today, on Friday, June 24th. The cost for riding this classic TV vehicle is about $30 for a 2-minute ride. For more info be sure to visit their website, click HERE!
Check out this amazing photo! It belongs to a guy in New Jersey named Gene. His story is, "Back in February of 1967, my dad took me and my younger brother Michael over to the Old Armory in West Orange, NJ, where they used to have great Hot Rods and Stock Car Shows. My Dad took this lone photo of us in front of one of the five original BATMAN TV 1966 Batmobiles!" WOW!!! Gene strongly believes the Custom Car he saw in 1967 was the #4 Batmobile ( the vehicle used for all the drag racing scenes ) because of the elaborate seat belt harnesses he and his brother recall seeing in the interior. Also, CHECK OUT the awesome life-size cardboard cutouts of Adam & Burt to the far right!!! This is a Classic Childhood Photograph! I wanna thank BatDave for bringing it to our attention & especially thank Gene for sharing his wonderful childhood memory... great stuff!

Here's a wonderful photo of an extremely RARE piece of Vintage Batman merchandise. It's a 1966 BATMAN Shirt... for a Little Girl. This item was bought off eBay awhile back from our friend Doug, who wrote, "I recently purchased this 1966 Batman Girl's Summer Shirt on eBay for a song. It is size 3X small cotton shirt with the Joker, Penquin, Batmobile, Batman, and Robin. It also has Gotham City in the background. Please note the Batman Logo is highlighted in pink and other features as well. This is the first one I have ever seen."
Yes, I have to agree that this is the very first time I have seen this variation. Now, I've seen this same graphic used on Baby bibs, Pillows, T-Shirts, etc...but never on a little girl's outfit & never in the strange hot pink variation, very cool! Thanks to Doug for sharing. So, do YOU have a RARE Batman Collectible you would like to share? I'm talking about a "Museum Piece" you have never seen before. if so, then please shoot the Bat-Blog a photo & send it to us, thanks.
Oh man, I am so jealous of this photo & proud of it too. The Bat-Blog has a new friend named Drew who really got to meet his favorite superheroes in person! We're talking about Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder!! Actually, we're talking about Burt Ward and Adam West!! The Actors from the Classic 1966 BATMAN TV Show were at a Comic Book Convention recently where Drew got to take this wonderful photo. Man, what a great pic! Another cool thing is that it is also signed by both guys... this is a complete treasure! Thank you Drew for sharing this, YOU ROCK Dude!!
Hey, a friend told me about this Bat-Video & I'm wondering how I could have missed it. OMG, it's AWESOME! Basically it's all about the 1966 Batmobile, the real Batman TV & Movie Car! The cool thing is that it's origin story is being told by none other than George Barris, the car's creator! It's pretty cool, check it out!!

Last Saturday our friend BatDave went to cover an event for a local Newspaper he works for. It was called "Hot Rods and Harleys"! They have it every year in historic downtown Rahway, NJ. This all-day festival spotlights Bikes, Bands, Babes, Beer, Classic Cars, Food and Family Fun! ( Sounds like a good time to me, ha! ). BatDave took his Girlfriend, BatChick, & another friend. The cool thing was that they didn't know Batman's Car was gonna be there! They turned the corner, when, KA-POW! Sitting right there was one of the coolest 1966 Replica-Batmobiles they have ever seen! The car is owned by Louie and Anna Marie and they really have outdone themselves. The attention to detail is completely insane! Just check out all the photos & be prepared to drool. Needless to say BatDave and his Crew had a wonderful time, ha! ( Thanks to BatDave for sharing his photos and story ).
An online company named STARGREETZ has hired Adam West to make audio recording for eCards, eInvitations, & Ringtones. Yes, you can now get the Original 1966 TV BATMAN to say your name! The messages are custom-tailored for Birthdays, Get Well Wishes, Graduations, etc... It sounds kinda fun. To check it out, click HERE!
Down below is an awesome Vintage 1960's Toy TV Commercial for the 1966 BATMAN AND SUPERMAN SPARKLE PAINTS Play Set made by Kenner Toys! It also includes an advertisement for another Kenner's Product, the See-A-Show! Now, up above I've included a reference photo of a different Kenner SPARKLE PAINT SET. This one featured just Batman. These babies are extremely RARE to find now a days because, back in the day, kids totally destroyed them, ha! I wish I had one of these because I totally love the vintage graphics on the original boxes.
