BATMAN LIVE World Arena Tour Starts Tonight in the UK!!

Oh yeah! If you're lucky enough to live in, or near, England then you know that today is the day that the very 1st BATMAN LIVE World Arena Tour show starts tonight! It will be in Manchester & I am already totally super-jealous, JEALOUS!! It will run for 6 nights from July 19th - 24th at the Manchester Evening News Arena. OK, this is BATMAN FANDOM to the Extreme! You gotta love it! A cool Bat-Fan named Casey Putsch recently built his very own Batmobile Car! It's modeled after the 1989 BATMAN Movie version. Now, you're probably thinking, "Hey, there's a ton of those out there!". Well, NOT like this one. He used a a Boeing turbine engine from a decommissioned military helicopter!! Yes, this thing is really turbo!! It's just like it was intended in the movie, but real, ha! Just check out the videos down below & you'll see. Plus, be sure to crank-up your speakers because you can hear the modified turbine engine roar! This EXTREME!! ( Thanks Jordan & Mike ).

But, besides working in Hollywood, Michael Uslan is an extremely serious Batman Fan, and has been since early childhood, this is his story.

SAVE THE RETRO ACTION DC SUPER HEROES TOYS!!

This is sort of sad news for Toy Collectors out there. Mattel has decided to cancel the RETRO ACTION DC SUPER HEROES Toy Line. These are the brand-new 8" figures that were made to sort of be like the old vintage MEGO DOLLS from the 1970's. They're totally great toys, very very cool! Well, some Toy Collectors have got together & created a "SAVE THE RETRO LINE" Petition to try & get Mattel to continue making the figures. Basically, what they're saying to Mattel is, "If retail stores don't seem like a profitable solution, then consider making these Retro figures as exclusives on mattycollector.com or consider an annual subscription service." It's sort of a desperate attempt but I think if they got enough people involved then maybe it has a chance. Here's an interesting video shot at New York Comic Con of an almost 1-hour speech by Michael Uslan, the Producer of the Batman Movies. This is part one ( 10 minutes ) & there are 5 total, that you can enjoy at YouTube. Basically, he shares his stories about being a HUGE Comic Book Fan & going to early Comic Book Conventions. In fact, he went to the VERY FIRST Comic Con in NYC back in the 1960's. Now the reason I'm posting this video is because he talks about Batman, a lot!

VIDEO - Sneak Peek of BATMAN: YEAR ONE, New DC Universe Animated Film

In this promo, finally, we get to see some of the ideas about the next DC Universe Animated Film, BATMAN: YEAR ONE. Of course it's an adaptation of Frank Miller & David Mazzucchelli's classic Graphic Novel. The Animation Team seems to really want to be true to the original source. In this sneak peek we get introduced to many of the Voice Actors, many are excellent choices. I just wish we could see more "cartoon clips" of the actual DVD product, but this is a teaser so I guess we'll have to wait.

Down below is an awesome Vintage 1960's Toy TV Commercial for the 1966 BATMAN AND SUPERMAN SPARKLE PAINTS Play Set made by Kenner Toys! It also includes an advertisement for another Kenner's Product, the See-A-Show! Now, up above I've included a reference photo of a different Kenner SPARKLE PAINT SET. This one featured just Batman. These babies are extremely RARE to find now a days because, back in the day, kids totally destroyed them, ha! I wish I had one of these because I totally love the vintage graphics on the original boxes.

Video - THE NEW JOKER - a Fan-Made BATMAN Movie

Here's a JOKER FAN-FILM made by a few friends with probably no budget at all. But over all it's put together really well. The basic story is the Joker giving a message to Batman. Also, It's obviously the "Heath Ledger" version from "The Dark Knight" movie. The make-up & acting is pretty decent, check it out!

Video - BATMAN MOVEMENT Animation Test by 3D Artists

Here's a pretty cool video I came across the other night which shows CGI Modeling and texturing by 3D Artist Carles Gonzalez. Rigging and animated by Miguel Ángel Rubio Recio. The figure looks great but the cool thing is the actual movement of the figure. Batman starts out "walking", then a light sprint, and then some serious running action. All along the way the body seems very natural & the lighting is well done. Carles and Miguel live in Barcelona, Spain.
