Zdravko's Favorite BATMAN MEMORIES

Here at the Bat-Blog we have a good friend named Zdravko. He recently came across some great Batman-related photos while looking through some old family pictures. The 1st one shows him as a little boy standing next to a special Batman Birthday Cake that his Dad had made for him...that's cool! His Dad did a great job because the cake looks really nice. The 2nd photo is from his Baptism as a small child. His Mother is carrying him in Church. In it, you can see he's holding a Batman figure. Yes, he took Batman with him! The photo is from the mid-1990's & the toy is actually a Topps Bubble Gum Candy-Filled Hard Plastic Figure that was made around the time of the BATMAN RETURNS movie. I have one of those, how funny! BATMAN # 27 With CHRISTMAS SANTA CLAUS - Golden Age Comic Book Cover

Here's a 1940's Golden Age Comic Book Cover that I thought would be appropriate for today's event, Christmas Eve. It's BATMAN # 27 from 1945 ( Be sure to click on the above photos for larger, more detailed, pics ). It shows Batman & Robin helping Santa Claus deliver toys to good boys & girls...it's a Classic! On the back cover was an advertisement for the Daisy Air Rifle company. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Video: 1992 McDonalds BATMAN RETURNS Movie Cups TV Commercial

Anybody remember these BATMAN RETURNS Movie Cups from McDonalds? I do, I collected them all! I also remember being sort of upset that they were plastic because for a long time these Premium Promo Glasses from Fast Food Restaurants used to be high-quality glass. Then, I guess some moron sued them or something ( or maybe they became too expensive to produce ) so they all went to plastic. But, these BATMAN RETURNS Cups were still pretty neat & the graphics were really nice. The lids were actually a Mini-Frisbee that didn't fly very well, but looked cool. There were 6 to collect: Batman, Catwoman, The Penguin ( 2 ), Bruce Wayne, & The Batmobile. Now, I got the photos here so you can see the cups & that "Newspaper-looking thing" was the Paper Placemat used at McDonalds for the trays. I remember a HUGE Standee Store Display Sign that was in the store too but couldn't find a pic at the time of this post. But really the main thing are the cups & the video. Yes, the TV Commercial! Batman Christmas Holiday Decorating Idea # 1

It seems our friends Dallas & Daria are really getting into the Holiday Spirit this year! They decorated a few Batman, Joker, & Catwoman Statues with Christmas wreaths. The funny thing is the expression on Batman's face makes him look like he's not too happy with the whole idea, ha ha! But, overall, the 3 busts look pretty cool & I thought the picture would make a great Christmas Card image ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the funny pic ).

FRANK GORSHIN & MARCELO ABEAL

Uno de los villanos del show quién personificó al acertijo en Batman, el actor Frank Gorshin, estaba en Buenos Aires. Mi primer y único encuentro con él fue en noviembre de 1999. Recuerdo un ser amable, simpático, con un sentido del humor inigualable, de ojos expresivos y de bondad absoluta.

Frank fumaba mucho y me invitó con un cigarro, le dije Oh my friend, I do not smoke y sonrió. El dialogo fue muy ameno, además teníamos un conocido en común Tom Huff o Tommy Huff, qién trabajó conmigo en el film Highlander II, entonces me empezó a contar sobre los dobles de Adam West y Burt Ward que eran Hubie Kerns y Victor Paul respectivamente. En cuanto a Hubie me dijo que no solamente era uno de los mejores stunt en aquellos años, además era actor, quién durante la filmación de la película, reemplazando a Adam West, con un maravilloso salto al vacío y una clavada perfecta en las profundas aguas escapa de los villanos y sale nadando. Victor Paul era muy buen stunt driver.

Le dije a Frank que había realizado un papel maravilloso en el film Ring of Fire "Cerco de Fuego" contestándome que se metió en la piel del personaje creyéndose ser un malvado de verdad personificando a Frank Henderson -tenía el mismo nombre que Gorshin-.
Como te resulto trabajar con la actriz Brenda Joyce en ese film y me dijo Marcelo estás equivocado la actriz era la bellísma Joyce Taylor y fue muy interesante y con David Janssen: David era una gran persona, siempre llegaba con una sonrisa y le decía a todo el mundo Hi!!, se perfilaba como uno de los actores más conocidos de TV durante los próximos años.
Tienes varios proyectos: por supuesto, hay varios ofrecimientos y los estoy estudiando además de que se habla de una remake del film Batman.
Le agradecí a Frank con la deferencia que me trató y la cálida conversación que mantuvimos, me deseo suerte en mi carrera, además que le avisara que si fuera a United States volvernos a encontrar.
Nos despedimos con un fuerte abrazo y nunca más lo volví a ver.....
