Cool BATMAN LOGO Birthday Cake...Party Time!!

Over at Facebook I have a friend named Lauren who recently shared some neat pics of her Batman Birthday Cake she had. The thing is really cool! There's a HUGE Batman Logo Symbol ( plastic topper ) on the top & a few other Batman-themed designs in icing all over it. Plus, the whole thing is black & bright yellow...extremely cool! TWO-FACE Vinyl Model Kit From The BATMAN FOREVER 1995 Movie ( Tommy Lee Jones Version )

For awhile now we have been featuring some awesome Batman Vinyl Model Kits made by our good friend known as SKINNYBIRD. He sent us some nice pics of his personal collection of models he has built & painted. Every now & then we feature one and the cool thing is that they're always very popular. Now, here's the one he did of TWO-FACE from the BATMAN FOREVER movie ( 1995 ). Of course he was played by Tommy Lee Jones. OK, to be honest, this is one of my least liked Batman films. It was really really bad & practically ruined the franchise. But I don't want that to take away from the fact that Skinnybird did an incredible job on this model kit. Just check it out, the paint job is extremely well done & I like the custom base he made too. If you look at TWO-FACE's Double-Sided Jacket it a ton of detail to it, with the animal print patterns, that must have taken forever to paint ( Get it? "forever", Sorry, bad joke ). Before I go I wanna say three things: 1. I wanna thank Skinnybird for sharing his pics with us, all the models are great & I love sharing them. 2. OK, I know that some people just totally love this movie. It might have been their 1st introduction to the Batman Universe & I totally respect that. So, please just take my comments about this being a crappy film with a grain of salt. It's actually worth viewing as a part of Bat-History. Also, if you go into with a certain attitude, it's really not that bad & can be kind of enjoyable. 3. 1989 BATMAN MOVIE JEWELRY Reference Guide!

Awhile back, I got an e-mail from a guy who told me all about how he made some Batman Jewelry back in the late 1980's. Actually, the stuff came out during the 1989 Batman Movie craze! His company made many different versions of Batman-Themed Rings, Pendants, Pins, Buttons, Badges, Earrings, etc... They were all either Batman or Joker related & were the actual characters or their respective logos ( like the Bat-Symbol or Comic Book Logo ). Shown here are 2 Advertising Pamphlets featuring the work. Oh man, they're all so cool! The funny thing is I think I have one set of those Bat-Symbol Earrings, I'll have to dig those up later! Anyway, I wanna thank him for sharing these great pics. This stuff is an amazing piece of Vintage Bat-History! ( Readers, be sure to click on the above photos for larger, more detailed, pics ).

Custom Toys: COMIC BOOK BATMAN Mighty Muggs Figures

I recently got a very nice letter from a Batman Fan in the Philippines named Nico. He sent these wonderful photos of 2 Custom Batman Mighty Muggs Figures he customized & painted to look like 2 different versions of the Dark Knight. The 1st one is styled after Jim Lee's artwork & the 2nd one is inspired by Alex Ross. I gotta say that they are both so totally GREAT that it's really hard to choose a favorite! Thank you Nico for sending these in, you did an amazing job on both of them. I think that if you had not told me about the different comic book artist's styles you used that I still would have been able to recognize their influence. HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Batman and Robin Scarecrow!

OK, It seems that this year everybody is going totally wacky over Halloween! Here at the Bat-Blog we have been getting a lot of photos, both new & vintage, where people have been showing us their Batman-related costumes. That has been really wonderful ( thanks again everybody & keep them coming ). Also, since the actual holiday is getting closer, we are starting to get pictures of Batman Jack O' Lantern Pumpkins, that's great too! But THIS photo was really kind of a surprise. A good friend to the Bat-Blog, nicknamed "BatmiteReturns", send us this funny photo of a set of Batman & Robin Scarecrows he recently saw. He wrote,

My family and I went to a pumpkin patch over the weekend and inside was a real life Batman & Robin scarecrow. I've never seen anything like it before. Of course I had to snap a picture of it!

Later he added how shocked he was to see it at such an unusual place & he made the observation that there was sort of a big irony here because "The Scarecrow persona" is also an evil villain in the Batman Universe. I thought the same thing, ha ha! But I wanna thank him for sending the photo, it's great! I think they actually did a pretty good job on it.
