Brian Setzer Orchestra performing "Batman Theme Song" at the Ottawa Bluesfest in Canada, July 11th, 2009. You might remember this guy from the 1980's Stray cats rock group. He's been playing Big Band music ( Rockabilly style ) for quite awhile now & is really great in concert! He plays all over the world so, if you get the chance, go see him play!

VINTAGE BATMAN TOY COLLECTION PHOTOS: Magazine Article From Japan!

In the year 2000 ( I love the sound of that, it's like a movie trailer voice-over for an old sci-fi film, ha ha! ) a company in Japan published a magazine that featured the collection of a Major Batman Toy Collector. The cool thing was that it was a total mix-up of many vintage items & then a few more "modern day" pieces. It's just a great reference guide for many extremely RARE Japanese Toys from the 60's & even some cool stuff from the Warner Bros Store, mostly Batman: The Animated Series. When I look at it I see a lot of toys I have, a few things I know about & want, and then even some items that I have never EVER seen before...a great variety! COOL BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Be sure to check the Bat-Blog every Wednesday for New Batman Wallpapers! This week I thought I would mix it up & use some graphics with different styles. The 1st one is more dark & gritty, very modern, and from the current comic books. This seems to be the "Batman" that most younger Bat-Fans prefer. The 2nd one is our Good Old Chum Adam West from the 1966 TV Show. I thought this artwork was really cool & it is a good likeness of his face. The 3rd one shows the Whirly-Bat Vehicle from the animated BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD. I'm sort of missing that cartoon right now & wanted to see some imagery from there. Plus, keep in mind, that we have almost a million wallpapers here at the Bat-Blog & there must be a lot of them you would like. Vintage 70's Photo: Kids Dressed-Up as 1966 Batman, Robin, & The Penguin!

This photo cracks me up every time I see it, ha ha! Plus, the costumes are very impressive. This photo from a Color Slide was sent in by a friend named Ralph & it's a picture of some Batman-related Costumes his Mother made for Ralph when he was a little kid in 1974 or 1975. The details are insane & of course it's the 1966 TV Show version of the characters. He said that they used to wear these costumes & make small plays with them. Plus, while doing so, they would photograph each different sequence. Then later, when they projected the slides on the wall ( in correct order ) they sort-of had a Batman movie! Wow! This is really creative & must have been a lot of fun too! I also gotta say that Ralph's Mom did an incredible job on these costumes...they're really great! ART: PABLO PICASSO Inspired BATMAN & JOKER Parody Paintings

OK, I hope I don't need to explain who Pablo Picasso is, ha ha! But he was an artist who helped define Modern Art & one of his most popular styles was cubism. Well, the designers at WONDER BROS recently created many Superhero Paintings in the Picasso-Style & they're totally AWESOME! In fact, the name of the Gallery is "Artwork So Awesome It will Melt Your Face Off", ha ha! BATMAN + NOLA ( New Orleans ) = DATMAN T-Shirt!

Here at the Bat-Blog we're HUGE Fans of anything related to New Orleans, it's a really GREAT city! Well, recently we came across this hilarious Parody Souvenir T-Shirt for NOLA called "DATMAN".
